Frugal Accomplishments

This week I received some free samples in the mail. (shampoo, conditioner)

I won a free one year subscription to Better Home and Garden magazine from somewhere( facebook maybe?)

I recieved a coupon for a free box of hair color that I won on facebook.

I was able to cash in my Swagbucks and earn ten dollars in Amazon giftcards.

We're finally getting milk from our goat! I'm going to attempt to make cheese this week, I just need to purchase some cheese cloth. We may also try making soap as another way to make some income.

I plan on using a Lowe's gift card that I have to buy some tomato plants. I'm hoping to make my own salsa and pasta sauce since I use a lot of it.

Did a shopping trip at Aldi's. This is my favorite grocery store because the prices are so much lower.

Downloaded a few free ebooks on chickens/gardening/homesteading.

New Shoes and Warm Weather!

The weather has been in the 80's and I am LOVING it!! Bentley needed a new pair of sandals since his ones from last year are too small. I was so excited today when I went in to Walmart to get him a cheap pair to play in and found them all on clearance for $2.50!! Even the dressier ones were on clearance. So I was able to get a play pair and a dressy pair both for half price of what one pair normally costs. That was such a blessing!  I love saving money on things that I have to buy. It's so exciting.

Weekly Frugal Accomplishments

  • I received a few free samples in the mail this week.
  • We didn't eat dinner at home hardly at all, we ate a random family members for Easter and my husbands birthday, but we brought something to most of the dinners.
  • Used coupons for a very cheap bottle of laundry detergent and am going to be able to do the same this week. I plan to start making my own very soon but I haven't got around to it yet.
  • The weather's been beautiful so I haven't had to run the heat. To keep from turning on the air, I've been opening the front door to let a breeze blow through.
  • Made a menu plan! I only had to buy a few items. The rest will be from the pantry and freezer.
  • Hung towels up to dry to reuse the next morning for me and my son.
  • Was able to download a bunch of free kindle books.
  • I got a free subscription to Amazon prime, allowing to watch a bunch of shows for free. I also get free shipping and can borrow one kindle book free a month. This will allow me to get some books that I want to read but will not pay for.

MoneySavingMom's 30 Day House Cleaning Challenge.

MoneySavingMom (my favorite blog in the blogosphere) is hosting a 30 day house cleaning challenge. It's a great way to get a jump on spring cleaning! I missed day one but I jumped right in on day 2!
Here's the link!

Day 2 was to clean all of the bathrooms in the house, and since we only have one it took me all of 15 minutes.

That included the toilet, putting in a load of clothes (our laundry facility is in the bathroom), wiping down the sink, sweeping and mopping. I just went ahead and mopped the whole house since I was already doing it!

Now to go put the clothes in the dryer..  *sigh*

Easter Celebrations.

We were blessed to have three Easter celebrations. One on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. But apparently during all the celebrating Michael and Bentley (and half of Michael's family) got a 24 hour stomach bug. I have thankfully been spared so far. We'll see if it lasts.

Bentley had a great time hunting for eggs. He called it "cleaning up eggs Momma!" And he has had enough candy to last until Halloween.

Hunting eggs at Meemaws house!

Blowing bubbles with his Meemaw!
